Question
Dears,,
kindly, I need full and unique answer to this assignmnet:
You are required to select a small project for step-wise application of the knowledge acquired during this course. It could be a web site, a mobile app, etc. Focus on something that solves a problem or fills a need. Your project needs to be sufficiently complex to show your ability to design multiple screens and interaction flows as the user carries out a small number of tasks. You will be using the same project to work on in other assignments during the entire semester.
For this assignment you need to do the following:
Brainstorm ideas. You might want to use a free, online mind-mapping tool like SpiderScribe or Mindomo (NOT compulsory). Here are some questions you might want to consider to focus your brainstorming:
Think of a service you or your friends use. What’s the biggest avoidable hassle (inconvenience) customers must endure?
What happens in your daily routine that is complex or confusing? How could you simplify it?
Think of a domain that interests you: shopping, elementary education, exercise, social media, etc. What possibilities are there to do something new or better? What might be redesigned for newer or different technologies like smart phones or gaming platforms?
Narrow your choices down to ONE best idea.
1- What is the problem? Why is it interesting?
2- Who are the main users affected?
3- List the main goals of your project.
4- Describe in your own words similar work in at least ONE published paper, make sure you cite the paper in APA style.
Explanation / Answer
1. Problem Definition and why it is interesting:
In a courier sending system, people apply for courier service by writing all the details in a particular form provided by the courier servicing company. A data entry operator have to type the details again for storing it in their database. While typing, the time is elapsed and the courier sending person have to wait there until he get a slip in return (something like receipt) for his courier request.
I would like to create a software for scanning the handwritten form and then convert them into machine readable format of the text enterd by the courier sending person. The retrieved text have to be entered into daabase and recipt have to be generated that time itself. I found this as an interesting task since it solves the burden of manual entering of handwrittten data.
2. Main users affected
People who brings offline filled form to courier sending company
Data entry operator who recieve offline filled courier request form
3.Main goals of the project:
This application is useful when there is a situation that people need to keep both hard copy (handwritten copy) and soft copies of records.
Offline handwriting recognitioncan be done and text can be electronically edited, searched, stored more compactly, displayed on-line, and used in machine processes such as machine translation and text mining.
This application is useful when there is a situation that schools need to keep both hard copy (handwritten copy) and soft copies of student records.

Many commericial applications are there for converting handwritting character into machine readable format of that text. But recognition rate is low in all developed systems. Benny, D [1] analyses various binarization procedures for better prepocessing of handwriten image. Author also explains the various stages for converting handwritten image into machine readable text. In presprocessing stage, the scanned handwritten characters are fed into the binarizer for making it in to black and white image.
There are two phases for offline handwritten character recognition: training phase and recognition phase. At training stage, the character images in image-set are loaded into an applet for preprocessing, edge detection and feature extraction. Preprocessing of character images is very important because its result affects directly the recognition rates. Thus, the optimal preprocessing is essential for a successful recognition. Several thresholding techniques like Otsu’s thresholding, Sauvola’s thresholding and Bradley’s local thresholding are analysed and implemented for developing a novel methodology that binarizes documents and remove noise from character images. An extended version of Bradley Local Threshold scheme is proposed and implemented in this thesis. This methodology is tested on character databases. After edge detection, features from the character image are extracted and saved in MySQL database by labelling with corresponding character name. At the recognition stage, trained features corresponding to the trained characters are loaded from the database. After line segmentation and character segmentation, the features from each character are extracted for mapping of pattern using neural network[2]. The training and testing of handwriting recognition using Kohonen’s Self Organizing Feature Map is analysed here[3]. This research has great application in the field of progress report management, postal address recognition, mail sorting, courier management and historical document processing.
