Q1) Government should allow businesses to be involved in solving or finding solutions to public issues and societal challenges due to the below reasons -

Businesses sell their products or services to consumers who are the external stakeholders of the firm. The marketing and advertising campaigns of these firms influence the general public who tend to follow or enact the messages or actions of these firms. Hence, businesses strongly influence the public owing to their brand name due to which Government should involve these businesses to make public life better.

Q2) Depending on the extent of help the Government requires from the businesses, there can be partnership or relationship with businesses. Partnership involves increased persuasion as it requires resources and effort from the firm to find solutions to public issues whereas relationship involves external support from the firm through campaign level partnership etc.

Q3) Few for-profit businesses create problems through illegal land acquisitions and exploitation of natural and labor resources which requires involvement from Government to fix the same. But most of the firms have been taking up corporate social responsibility initiatives to be responsible towards the society.

Q4) Governments should involve business that are making profits from selling their products or services to the consumers and influencing public opinions through campaigns and messages. Apart from following the business regulations, the firms need to involve in public policy related decision making and implementation of the pollicies.
