Fill Cell Background when cell contain the date SAT or SUN.

What is the formula to fill the background of a cell that contain the abbreviation SAT and SUN. (Saturday, Sunday)

I am working on a shift roster for staff of +/- 160 members. All working 8 hours per day.

I would like to automatee the roster in such a way that when the cell contain the above abbreviation, it must fills the cell with aa color.

I also try to automate it that when it is a public holiday it must fill the cell with a background color.

Explanation / Answer

Use conditional formatting to do this. The formula (depending on the loccation of the cell) is:
=or(a1="sat",a1="sun") Then set the formatting attributes as you wouldd liike.
