Discuss a leader who you would consider to be transformational. If possible, choose a leader located in the Middle East other than His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In your paper, respond to the following:

Determine the key transformational qualities the leader possesses.

Based on your research, explain the impact the leader has had on his or her organization.

Examine the background of your selected leader and explain how he developed the skills to be a transformational leader.

What are the components of being a transformational leader? Thinking about yourself, determine if you are a transformational leader based on these components.

Next, examine your potential as a transformational leader and suggest ways for you to develop this type of leadership skill. What would need to happen in order to become a transformational leader?

The leader that I consider transformational is Bader Al Kharafi. He is the board member of the Kharafi Group which operates in over 25 countries and has over 1 lakh employees in multiple industries across the globe. Bader Al Kharafi is one of Kuwait’s most powerful personalities. Having completed his MBA from the London Business School, Bader Al Kharafi joined the family business to escalate the growth. His greatest quality is helping the young generation to succeed in business. His mission is to provide a bright future to Kuwait and the Middle East. He is inclined towards youth empowerment and embarked on a ‘Generation Z’ programme to help the entrepreneurially driven youth of Kuwait to build a career.

The transformational qualities that he possesses include honesty, empathy, vision influential skills and leadership qualities. Owing to his influential skills, Bader Al Kharafi was asked to become the board member of the Gulf Bank. Additionally, he served as the board member of Bahrain Steel and as chairman of Gulf Cables and Electrical Industries. He is quite passionate about women empowerment. Driven by this passion, he recently launched the Zain Women empowerment programme with the objective of bringing women diversity at workplace. Bader Al Kharafi serves as the CEO and vice chairman of Zain. Under the leadership of Bader Al Kharafi, the company Zain has reached to new heights and recorded $3.6bn in revenues in the year 2016. The company introduced new technologies in the Middle East even before Europe, U.S. and other countries. Al Kharifi is a smart business leader. To escalate the success of Zain, Al-Kharafi signed a deal with Vodafone allowing it access to the Middle East and thereby, allowing Zain to gain advantage from Vodafone’s existing networks in UK and Europe.

Based on the above-mentioned components, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a transformational leader. I still need to instil the intellectual stimulation in me to be able to become a transformational leader.
