Question
Learning Journals (LJs) are personal reflections shared with the professor about that Unit. It is a chance to ask questions that may not have come up in class or reach for clarification on topics which may need more explanation. It is not an APA paper about your week; it is a journal for you and the professor.
This week we covered only three schools of thought in Philosophy. These are not all of them, and the three may not be ranked at the top of many lists as the most important ones. We will talk about more later in the course. For this week’s LJ, please reflect on an area covered that surprised you most about Pragmatism, Positivism, or Realism.
Explanation / Answer
Pragmatism means some concept or things which is more dependent on the practical things rather than depending on the theories. All the three words pragmatism , postivism and realism are allmost same and which indicates that something which is based on the practical experience and not the theories. Most interesting part in this topic is that practical work is based on the theories only but while we compare the both theory and practical work there is a difference, that means theories are only the guidelines to work but while working , several other types of problems and issues are there which needs to be solved which are not mentioned in the theories.
