PSYCHOLOGICAL DILEMMA QUESTION 1. PLEASE HELP
I read many books and research about psychological manipulation that can be considered mind control. For example, if I am in a conversation with someone who always talks and doesn't let others speak, a way to fix that without being too rude is by accidentally dropping an object that way he stops talking and I can talk.
These are small psychological manipulations to get into the subjects head. there are mind control techniques that one can use to get something from someone, this often requires persuasive words and such.
However, I have a dilemma. A friend of mine works in the IT department of my job. I am an independent contractor for a translation company. For this translate job, If one is gone from sick days even, their tier rating drops. I had the flu for 2 weeks, My rating dropped very low and now I want to convince the head of IT to bring my ratings back because the rules aren't fair. People have tried to be persuasive in the past but it never worked out. How can I use some psychological manipulative techniques to "mind control" him into instantly giving me my orignal rating?
I can't go to his superiors. I can't tell him about the alternatives or bribe him. The rule has never been changed.

In socia Psychology, compliance refers to the process of influencing a change in another perosn’s thoughts and/ or behaviour in a desirable direction. Thus, you can create a situation where your superior would comply to your request by using an appropriate compliance strategy. For instance, you can use ‘lowball’ technique wherein you can volunteer to do extra time for a few hours on behalf of another colleague who is on leave if your supervisor in turn would consider raising your ratings. Thus, by providing a relatively low cost or risk situation as an exchange, you can create a situation where your supervisor would perceive it as a favour that is being made for him/ her and s/ he would find it more difficult to say no to you as s/ he would feel the obligation to return the favour.
