Explanation / Answer

1) Lyme is a tick-borne disease caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. This tick is spread by animals and insects. The precautions to be taken to prevent Lyme disease are:

Symptoms of Lyme disease include a bull's eye patterned rash, joint pain, weaknss in the limbs and flu-like symptoms. Bullseye rash is not exhibited by everybody. Some long term effects of Lyme disease include restless sleep, pain, decreased short-term memory and impaired speech process.

To prevent this disease a person needs to stop smoking or drinking habits and should start greater intake of calcium and vitamin D.

To diagnose osteoporosis, a bone density scan is taken. Its treatment includes medication, a healthy diet and weight--earing exercise to help prevent bone loss. It is called a silent disease because bone loss occurs gradually through a period of time without any symptoms. Spontaneous fractures are breaks in bones that occur in seemingly normal bone with no blunt force trauma.
