To test how these two substances, affect plH, a student test subject drank 500ml of water with 1000 ng of vitamin C and another drank 500mL of 1.0% NaHCO. 7(a) When sodium bicarbonate was administered the urine was highly alkaline due to significant decrease in ascorbic acid content and this tend to increase the pH that can equally understood if consider the graph shown in 7(b) while, simply administration of vitamin c i.e. a reducing agent which donates its electron and proton and become oxidized itself. However, it is tough to clinically defined the experiment but just for hypothesis purpose it showed significant decrease in pH of the urine with the increase in period of interval as showed in the graph.
&(c) The result interpretation is quiet clear that consumption of vitamin c (i.e.a source of ascorbic acid) causes fall in ph of the urine with the incearse in time interval while simply consumption of 1% sodium bicarbonate shoot the ph of the urine with effect of time.
