Explanation / Answer

Hi ,

1. The skin is the protective covering of the body. It helps the internal body muscles, tendons and blood from foreign agents. The skin has many components which work to keep skin active and functioning. As a person ages, the skin also looses its shine. The rate of cell division, metabolic activity, blood circulation speed, hormonal levels and muscle strength decreases with the age. The dermis reduces its ability to regenerate, reduced elasticity and resilience with aging. The hypodermis looses structure due to reduction in fat stores under the skin. The aging also results in reduced sweating, which increases ability to heat. The melanocytes and dendritic cells also reduce their acitivity resulting in pale skin and reduced immunity. The skin wrinkles are formed due to weakended muscles under the skin and decreases elasticity of collagen and dermis.
OVerall the aging causes the skin to loose its elasticity, shine, fat stores and resilience.
