1. In order to understand how information travels through sensory, motor and interneurons, it is important to understand each of them. Sensory neurons are characterised by dendrites on both of its ends with axon in the middle. Motor neurons has cell body followed by axon and then a dendrite at its end. Interneurons serve as the mediator between the sensory and motor neurons.
When a green light is detected by the eye, the photoreceptor cells convert the lght signal into electrical signals by the process of transduction. This signal is then picked up by the sensory neuron which then pass on the signal to the central nervous system which causes detection of the light directly. Alternatively, it can also pass on the information to motor neurons which may then stimulate the appropriate eye muscle to contract therby causing closure of the eyelids.
