Ans: A protected niche is a specific segment which the retailer or the company wants to target. This is important because of the following key reasons:

Ans: I totally agree with the hypothesis that If a new retail format is hit in one country it would be successful in all other countries. But, there will be different time taken for the model to be successful in different countries. The model will be successful because of the fact that every human being, irrespective of his origin, tend to respond to various stimulus in a similar fashion. And, the reason for the different time taken to be successful is the fact that different people in different geography generally are in different phases of maturity of their culture or collectively as a society, although they find concurrence in the long term.
