Answer. 1. Blood is an. Important vascular tissue in our body. It is composed of RBCs, WBCs and the platelets. When the RBC number decreases in blood then the required count, the condition is known as anaemia.
The potential causes for anaemia are internal bleeding or hemorrhoids, excessive loss of blood in the menstrual cycle due to some hormonal imbalance in the females, deficiency of foliate and vitamin B12 which is required for the production of healthy RBCs.
Answer 2. The RBCs contain a proteineous pigment called haemoglobin. This pigment has a capability to unite with the oxygen and help in the tissue respiration. So, deficiency in RBC count leads to the deficiency of Haemoglobin molecules, thus oxygen carrying capacity of an individual is decreased because of which breathlessness, frequent fatigue, dizziness like symptoms occurs.
Answer 3. At high altitude, forcefully fast breathing is done to get more oxygen because our body does aerobic Respiration. The energy currency of our body is ATP which is produced by the aerobic Respiration. Basically the last step called oxidative phosphorylation helps in this, which occurs in the mitochondria. Respiratory enzymes produce more ATP in the presence of oxygen, as we are aerobes. Thus, to generate ATP to meet the energy requirements of the body, forceful breathing will be done, so that appropriate amount of oxygen can go into the body.
