For your first essay, you are to create a personal narrative. Use formal, descriptive language to discuss the biggest influences on your educational career. These influences can be people such as teachers, friends, or family members; they can be moments, such as a field trip or a lesson; they can be items such as a book or a movie; as long as the things you are describing influenced you in some way in regards to education, it should be acceptable.
In as much detail as possible, describe the thing or thigs that influenced you, and describe how and why they influenced you. What made them so influential? What has it meant to you in your life? You have some freedom in the narrative structure of this essay, but you should create a logical flow of ideas through sensible organization.
Follow MLA guidelines. The essay should be 3-4 pages long, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, with 1” margins on all sides.
Explanation / Answer
Over time,there have many influences in my education career,starting from my parents,teachers and also the experiences I have had while traveling. I definitely did not know what I wanted to do till I passed my high school and had to take up a course for my graduation. My parents have been my biggest support system as well as influencers. They definitely taught me the value of being focused and determined in life, and also try out new things,make mistakes and learn from them.They definitely helped me clear out my confusion regarding my education and professional career.They took me to career counselors and were there with me throughout my sessions.They taught me the importance of not only being well educated but also financially independent and confident. Even my school teachers were really helpful and influential.They always pushed my limits and made me participate in competitions to boost my confidence.They gave me so many opportunities to prove myself and make me the person I am today. My travel experiences made me meet new people,see new place,new cultures,which were also a huge influence on my education career and definitely made my eyes open to a world I had never seen when I was in school.It changed my perspective towards life,made me more open minded and gather so much knowledge which is still proving to be helpful in my career and personally as well. Every influence has taught me something and made me a confident and indpendent person today who gives immense value to education and career as well.To be able to stand on your feet,and especially being a girl in this world,is extremely important. Now,I use all the knowledge I have to share it with students I interact with on an everyday basis and tell them the things I have been told and also my own personal experiences,of choosing the right career and most importantly the value of education.My teaching has become more refined because of all these influencers in my life.
