Suggestions (more than one) on who I could research for this assignment? Considering Adlerian theory, your task is to choose a social or political leader (alive or dead) to examine within that framework theory. (NO entertainment/tv/movie personalities.) You may start by examining how the person obtained his or her high level of superiority striving. What factors in childhood and/or early lifestyle may have contributed to the outcome?  For the person you choose, address the question of whether this leader is/was acting in the social interest or for personal gain.  

Explanation / Answer

You can choose Nelson Mandela who was a self actualised individual. Imprisoned for more than 25 years , he continues his strive towards helping poor and fight against at racism. He spread to the world , the love to kill the hatred.

His personality can be described as striving for perfection, as can be mainfested in his famous quote " donor judge me by my success but by how many time I fail and stand up again.

You can also choose Mahatma Gandhi , who left his luxurious life for emancipating suffering of poor , first in Africa and later moving to India . He conquered all his desire and became self actualised person who inspired masses to fight against oppression.
