Mrs. Roosevelt acted as a channel between President Roosevelt and the NAACP (organization that worked for the advancement of the colored people). She stepped out of her image of conventional firts lady and gave it a new meaning that had responsibilities for the causes of the people of her country. President Roosevelt didn't wanted to anger the Southern Senators regarding the anti-lynching bill, and also, hestitated from taking any firm actions against lynching due to it. This made Mrs.Roosevelt to have correspondence with Mr. Walter White who was related to NAACP and urge him to work for the anti-lynching bill to brought in the house for voting. Thus, Mrs. Roosevelt played an unforgettable and pivotal role in bringing anti-lynching laws in the country, and stopping the discriminatory inhumane practice.
