Long-Term Memory is considered as unlimited and permanent. Recalling is associated with accessibility instead of availability. Mode of encoding is visual, semantic, and acoustic.

The long-term memory contains skills, experiences, knowledge.it is structurally and functionally different from short-term memory.

It is divided into three major processes:

• Encoding

• Storage

• Recall or retrieval

There are many weaknesses of long-term memory besides it strength

• Longer retrieval time

• Information or stored data can be lost or become faded over time.

• Reconstruction or change of information

According to Hyde and Jenkins (1969) study, intentional learning is more effective than incidental learning.

Learning is a process in which any individual gain knowledge via studies, experiences or any other method.

There are many types of learning methods but most relevant of them are incidental learning and accidental learning.

Incidental learning refers to the process of learning of one stimulus while concentration on other also. In it, knowledge is gained without any attempt to learn by conscious.

On the other hand, intentional learning processes in which individual is intended to acquired knowledge with conscious and store it in his memory.

Both incidental and intentional learning process is necessary for better learning and recall but studies suggested that intentional learning is more effective than incidental learning.
