Question

Additionally, consider the computers and robots that may be used in a business. Computers have often been called “thinking machines” and their ability to process information, react to specific stimuli, and perform many other processes with even more efficiency than humans. Though debatable, some have even suggested that computers can “learn” and may exhibit some characteristic of emotional intelligence. Using the concepts of learning and intelligence learned in the course, discuss your thoughts on whether or computer processes and abilities should be considered “Artificial Intelligence” or simply electrical and mechanical machine processes. Include in your answer some similarities and differences between the processes of the human mind and those of a typical computer.

Explanation / Answer

In my point of view, machines are machines and that they may imitate the actions of human beings with the help of the codes but they can never become human beings. These machines are emotionless and they are highly predictable according to the way they are programmed. They cannot think on their own except with the help of whatever input given to them by humans. Human beings are the most unique creatures on earth who are highly unpredictable. Humans can think on their own and make decisions depending upon the situation. Computer intelligence can be called artificial intelligence because it’s not the natural abilities of the computers but the work of the human beings. Human brain receives the stimuli from the environment processes it and then gives a response appropriately. This particular process and the response is entirely in the human’s control. Machines on the other hand are already programmed and they can give only one response which is not in their control.
