Giving Your Comment for following information Availability Heuristic is estimating the likelihood of events based on their availability in memory. One instance when I engaged in availability heuristic is when my parents suggested to go on a spontaneous backpacking trip in Mexico. I have read and heard many articles and stories of people getting murdered in Mexico. So, because of the large amount of memory I had of crime incidents in Mexico, I believed that it was a very dangerous country with a high crime rate. I judged the likelihood of an accident occurring on a trip in Mexico solely on the amount of memory I had. Although I did end up going on a trip to Mexico and it was amazing. Some advice that I learned from the textbook that can help you not make this mistake in the future is a venturesome personality. This is when you seek new experiences, tolerate ambiguity and risk, and preserve in overcoming obstacles. By having a venturesome personality, you can put all the initial fears you have aside and explore and learn for yourself. After my Mexico trip, I acquired a venturesome personality and now I go to mexico all the time. Also it led me to explore many new places like backpacking all of Central America and the Middle East. So, by implementing a venturesome personality, you can live fearless and explore the world

Availability heuristic is more so based on the sweeping generalizations that people generally tend to make with respext to certain instances and accounts that people tend to extrapolate and believe to have a statistical basis in, when it isn't the case. This is a cognitive bias and is known to be a cognitive short cut that most of the population tends to take, and an errors they make.
