1. Explain why we might see a marriage between a man with Narcisstic PD and a woman with Dependent PD.

Since ages, it has been taught to women that being dependent on men or needing someone to fulfil her needs. Also, narcissism is seen majorly in males, though, with changing dynamics of male and female equality, some forms may also be seen in women. When such a relationship is formed the couple tends to overreact showing aggressive behaviours and anger. Males with narcissistic PD tend to boss over their spouses by trying to control their entire lives. On the other hand women with dependent PD tend to submit to their narcissistic counterpart.

Both these personality disorders form a part of the same family, I.e. Cluster B personality disorders. Antisocial PD and Histrionic PD. In both the PD there is manipulation and exploitation seen as an indication. Histrionic PD is generally in the women. They are similar disorders with being just the male and female version of each other. In both the disorders exaggeration and HPD people do not engage themselves in social activitiealsom it has been shown that out of 3, 2 people having HPD have symptoms similar to ASPD. s.

OCPD is a personality disorder whereas OCD is an anxiety disorder. For OCD, people an involuntary control over their actions, and can try but not stop their actions. Whereas, OCPD is a personality disorder which arises from the strive to achieve perfection. People with OCPD can control their urges and not be swayed in just like people having OCD. For OCD, the term is negative, and people do not tend to stay around the people with OCD.

5. Many people get Schizoid PD and Avoidant PD mixed up. How are they different?

Avoidant PD can be said with a person having lack of any kinds of social interest and the person possessing inadequate nature and this may occur due fear of being criticised but they have emotions and they are not as emotionally cold as people with schizoid PD. Whereas a person with a schizoid personality avoid being in public or social gathering, since they enjoy being alone and living a solitary lifestyle. These people are emotionally cold and only love to stay with themselves.
