Explanation / Answer

1. Energy flows one way, through food we because it start from the sun to autotrophs (producer) and followed by heterotrophs (consumers). At each trophic level, energy is reduced from its prior trophic level. Chemicals are too passed from one producer to consumer, but not get lost as heat as energy does. So, it can be cycled.

2. a. Carrying capacity can be defined as maximum size of the population of a species that can survive in a specific environment, when all the requirement of living are given like food, shelter , water and other necessities.

b.Factors contributing to carrying capacity are: (i) Availability of food, (ii) Availability of water (iii) Shelter, (iv) Ecological condition

3. Phenomenon related with image is “ Bio magnification” means extension of contamination at each trophic level.
