Explanation / Answer

7.According to freud dreams are the repressed wishes of a person . Dreams are reservoir of our unconscious mind. What we can not express freely and consciously , comes in form of dreams. Freud suggested a great method of dream interpretation in which he used with his patients to get an insight of their unconsious mind. He used to interpret all the dreams of his patients and through that interpretation he used to get information about patient's unconsious mind . Freud's main focus was on unconcious material and he believed that all our behaviour has its basis in unconcios thougjts and emotions that we can not express freely.

8. The psychodynamic school of thought was opposed by humanistic school of thought because of some of its weakmesses. Freud's major focus was on unconscios and sexual drives . One of the major drawback of this school was that all majority of the concepts of psychodynamic approach were very abstract and hard to understand by normal people. Secondly most of the ideas have no empirical evidence and thus can not be trusted completely . Lastly it is very difficult to study the unconscious of a person .

9.Ect stands for electro convulsive therapy . It is one of the fastest treatment used to cure severe depression and suicidal patients. Yes it has side effects like memory loss but if a patient is very severe sometimes it is the only way to treat the patient. Thee patient is also given medications after the therapy to reduce the side effects caused by therapy. It should not be the only method to treat severe depression and suicidal patients . It can be used with orher therapies as well like counselling and CBT.

10. Sometimes the patients with depression amd suicidal tendencies are so severe that the doctors have to give them ECT. It is a part of their treatment as its the fastest way to treat severe depression and suicidal patients. It should not be the only therapy but it shiuld be used in combination with other therapies as well like counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy. It all depends on the condition of the patient .
