Explanation / Answer

The above-mentioned study carried out to survey student reflections of a social media experience and also to study how effectively health consciousness of students can be enhanced through social media interactions.

1) Research method used for this evaluation is experimental method with survey by placing the students into one of two groups; learners (N=92), Pre-service Health and Fitness Professionals (N=35). The experiment began with allowing Learners post health and fitness questions to a Facebook group site. After this, survey questionnaires were given to all participants to evaluate the response and so the outcome.

2) This research method included subjects as students placed in 2 groups and having them interact in the social media sites on topic health and fitness. Here, the students are needed to interact in social media to check the degree involvement and efficacy of social media to boost interest in health and fitness interactions and also interest in the topic itself. This method of study can be deemed adequate only to particular students who are interacting in particular social media group and not with other students of same age group who use other social media tools other than one (Facebook) used in above research.

3) The learner group revealed that 51.1% believed long-term use of a social media site benefit their fitness routine. They felt more information can be sought about fitness from social media and it helps them to have social media as information center for their fitness needs.

The Pre-Service Health an Fitness Provider group revealed 52.9% of them learned from their peers. They felt it is helpful to learn new things about fitness through social media.

The outcome shows here more than half of the subjects recorded usefulness of the social media as information center as well as knowledge sharing center, where they can share their knowledge about fitness to others and satisfaction of sharing knowledge and acquiring new knowledge result in boosting of motivation towards health and fitness, hence convincing study. The outcome of study can be inferred as social media interaction makes it possible to have a strong motivation to learn new things and share the knowledge, this will serve as encouragement for health and fitness awareness and practice.
