Bullying can be defined as the use of unwanted aggressive behaviour, threats, force or coercion to abuse in order to intimidate, dominate others and create a power imbalance. It is generally seen in school aged children and teens.

Bullying usually especially occurs with kids who are perceived to be at an imbalance of social or physical power by the bully or others. Thus this makes them an easy and soft target for the bully just like in the case of Kelby Johanson. She has been shunned by her family members and neighbours as well as looked down upon by her Peers and teachers. This keeps her in a position golf imbalance in social power thus making her a soft target for bully. Following measures could have been taken by parents, authority figures and community as a whole reduce bullying towards Kelby :
