Self-doubt and self-destructive behaviours would include such things as: negativity, blaming others for one's bad behaviours and struggles, ete.Explanation / Answer
Self-realization can be defined as knowledge about oneself and actualization of purpose of self in this world. It is a consciousness of self and acts carried out in the material world.
Self-destructive or self-doubt can be defined as lack of awareness of self and purpose in the universe. Due to doubt in self, the acts carried out may be doubtful (without intention) or with bad intention to self and universe resulting in destructive behavior.
If we consider both self-realization and self-destructive behaviors as trees, the root of these trees constitutes behaviors and attitudes which are responsible for growth of trees. Let us consider some root behaviors and attitudes of both trees, so that we can learn what to cultivate at root level to enhance growth of self-realization tree.
Behaviors and attitudes at root of self-realization tree:
1. Awareness of self and purpose. This awareness enhances individual's behavior towards others. Confused or purposeless actions are avoided if one is aware of self with regard to humanity and one's role in universal peace.
2. Absence of greed. Understanding that earning is for only livelihood and help others in need will reduce collecting extra resources without purpose. This attitude helps to increase feel of abundance and safety in life.
3. Equality. Treating everyone equally without any stereotypes makes one more open and universal. This will reduce inequality and increases awareness of self universally.
4. Optimism. Being optimistic and encouraging healthy competition will result reduction in stressful situation and increase in peace. This optimistic behavior serves as stepping stone for realizing about self.
5. Unconditional love. With unconditional positive regard towards neighborhood, peace is ensured and serves as basement for self actualization.
Behaviors and attitudes at root of self-doubt or self-destruction tree:
1. Pessimism. The disposition to look only dark side hinders individual's self confidence level. This attitude negatively influence surrounding people to compete ruthlessly.
2. Greed. Keeping more resources than what is needed for abundant life will increase doubt in self. This attitude makes an individual think about inability in self to have resources in future and thus collect more and more than required.
3. Lack of trust. Mistrust will lead to disparity between what individual thinks and what actually exist resulting in more useless actions leading to nowhere. This will destroy self awareness.
4. Jealousy. Comparing others and their accomplishments rather than being happy with knowing self accomplishments result in decreased self awareness. This will result in disparity between thoughts and actions.
5. Confusion about self. Lack of awareness of self and purpose of life may lead to destructive behavior due to lack of understanding about humanity and universality.
