Pre-shot routine is very important for a sportsperson, as it prepares the person for the task, and puts them in the right mindset. When there is no pre-shot routine, the performance may not come out consistent, and as mentioned it may be erratic.

Pre-shot routine should start with first assessing the slope, direction, wind and the trajectory of the shot.

Confidence is very important, the golfer should have confidence and belief in himself, if he is negative about the shot, the outcome may also turn negative.

Visualization of the perfect shot should be done, the golfer should visualize exactly how he wants to hit the shot and where it must go. This boosts the confidence.
