Explanation / Answer

Ans 10:
The suicide risk in the person can be assessed in two ways :

Interview :

The patient should be met alone , without their parents/ relatives in quiet room where the disturbance is minimalised. Open and closed questioning is then done. The gestures of the patient are observed. Non verbal communication is employed.

Counselling :

The patient must be asked about his thoughts on suicide or how he feels when he hears some one say it. manier times the patient reveals himself about such thoughts bothering him , but if he does not further probing is done.

Questions concerning life must be asked, such as , is life worth living ? , are there any purposes of life ? What if some one ends his life , do the problems end ? etc.
