The FLSA makes various exemptions from overtime pay. In other words, some positions within an organization do not qualify for overtime pay based on the nature of the job. They are: (1) executive employees; (2) administrative employees; and (3) professional employees. Jobs in these categories are exempt from overtime pay.
Despite the guidance from FLSA in defining these terms, it is sometimes difficult for employers to determine if a particular job fits within any of the exemptions. .

Its always matter of discussion, what is more important employee purchased time or out put from employee. Financial motivation drives the interest of particular person toward task. Moment someone observe investing excess time is merely wastage of time in that case he change his priority.
And if any ceder who is exempted from over time then he/she must be equipped with more facility to handle his day to day personal requirement. As this ceder invest his personal time for business purpose which is expected to spend for family . When such extra ordinary facility not made available to this ceder employee who are exempted from overtime then it kills there personal interest to word the dedication of work.
Hence where there is case, non availability of extraordinary facility on account of dedication of personal time for business, the overtime facility must be made available. Its also possible that, they can develop false document to adjust maximum working hours, but at same its question of mindset at personal level. Hence such facility must be subjected to certain terms.
