WHAT IS THE NORMAL REACTION DURING THE SALIVARY REFLEX TEST DEFINE: BABINSKI SIGN NERVES THAT CARRY BOTH SENSORY AND MOTOR FIBERS ARE CALLED ARE AXONAL BRANCHES OF A NEURON IS PERMANENT FLACCID PARALYSIS OF BOTH LEGS DUE TO TRANSECTION OR SEVERE TRAMA TO THE SPINAL CORI NAME THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE SHEATH IN WHICH EACH NERVE CELL FIBER IS NAME THE COARSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE IN WHICH GROUPS OF NERVE FIBERS THE AXONS OF NERVES ARE WRAPPED IN BUNDLES CALLED NAME THE FIBROUS CONNECTIVE TISSUE WRAPPING OF GROUPS OF FASCICLES/ NERVES NAME BOTH PNS NEUROGLIA/GLIAL CELI NAME THE THREE CNS NEUROGLIA GLIAL CELI PLAY A ROLE IN CAPILLARY- NEURON EXCHANGES, AND CONTROL THE CHEMICAL ENVIRONMENT AROUND NEURONS NEUROGLIA) MYELINATE THE CYTOPLASMIC EXTENSIONS OF NEURONS IN THE CNS ARE PHAGOCYTICNEUROGLIA (NEUROGLIA) MYELINATE THE CYTOPLASMIC EXTENSIONS OF NEURONS IN THE PNS CELLS LINE CEREBROSPINAL FLUID-FILLED CAVITIE WHICH CNS NEUROGLIAL CELLS ARE THE MOST ABUNDANT A TYPICAL NEURON IS COMPRISED OF EITHER TOWARD OR AWAY FROM ITS OTHER MAJOR AREA, THE , WHICH CARRY IMPULSES FASCICLES BOUND TOGETHER BY EPINEURIUM, CONTAINING BLOOD VESSELS AND LYMPHATIC VESSELS IN THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM IS CALLED AExplanation / Answer
Babinski sign is the extensor Plantar response.
Explanation: Plantar reflex elicitation is a very important neurological tool used in bedside clinics.
It is elicited by rubbing the lateral aspect of foot with a designated blunt object(The other side of a knee hammer)
There are 3 responses:
a> Flexor: great toe moves downward(Normal)
b> Indifferent: or absent/No movement of Great toe visible.
c> Extensor: Upward deflection of great toe(Abnormal)
Extensor response is abnormal in adults and found in Upper motor neuron lesion.
However in Infants due to immature Corticospinal tracts, Extensor response is normal.
Q2: nerves that carry both sensory and motor response are knownm as MIXED NERVES
The following cranial nerves are mixed nerves:
Occulomotor
Trigeminal
Facial
Glossopharyngeal
Vagus
Q4. transection of spinal cord leading to permanent paralysis of BOTH lower extremities are known as Paraplegia
*remember Hemiplegia is paralysis of one half of the body(e.g. Left upper and left lower extremities)
Q5. The connective tissue sheath in which every neuron is encapsulated is known as NEURILEMMA
