Question

I have an extra credit assignment and i need some help thinking of ideas for it!

The assignment is as follows:

I would like you to take a picture, or a short video, of something in the world that you can relate back to an anatomy and physiology concept, not simply a comparison such as a door hinge looks like the elbow.

Example given (with picture of racecar): A race car driver has to pull into the pit to change his tires and pick up more fuel. This is like a red blood cell when it enters the lungs. In order for each of these to refuel or exchange gasses, they both must slow down. If the racecar driver sped by, he would be unable to get his fuel or replace his tires. Likewise, a red blood cell cannot deliver and pickup CO2 and O2 if it is traveling through the lungs too fast. So, a racecar driver will slow his car to a stop by engaging the breaks if he needs tires or fuel. If he does not need tires or fuel he will continue racing. A red blood cell does not have the ability to break. When braking or slowing down is needed, the arterials in the lungs constrict, or get smaller. This slows the RBCs down enough that the gasses they are carrying or picking up can diffuse across the membranes. If the RBC’s, and body for that matter, have enough oxygen the arterials dilate, or get larger, and let the RBC’s continue "racing" along.

Explanation / Answer

A really interesting assignment it is.

Allows one to see analogy in day to day life.

Well coming to the point ,

There can be limitless ideas for it.

The one that strikes right away is Analogy in the Market behavior and Endocrine glands.

For putting it simply

Just like a endocrine gland when overproduces its product that i.e Hormones faces negative feedback for decreased demand and so the production slows down .

The market behaves the same

A company with an overpriced product would suffer decreased demand and vice-versa if it is overly cheap it would find itself closing down due to decreased demand . Thus a negative feedback cycle is created to regulate the prices of the product.

Similar to the Endocrine system of the body.

Hope u find it helpful
