Question
1.This condition would greatly decrease the patient’s metabolic rate.Since enzymes are proteins acting as catalysts to speed up a chemical reaction, the metabolic rate would not be able to occur at the same rate as it would with enzymes present. In the absence of the enzyme, the metabolic rate can be decreased by as much as one hundred times the normal rate it would metabolize at.As a result of this, this patient would probably have a hard time breaking down the crucial substances necessary to give someone a quality of life. The low metabolic rate would be possible to live with, but it would greatly inhibit what the patient's body is able to do and how it is able to function 2.When your diet lacks protein and low levels of albumin are in your blood, your blood is going to be thinned out and not as strong since protein is what helps give things strength.Low albumin is typically a result of decreased blood plasma, liver disease, or kidney disease.Plasma proteins are in the blood consisting of albumin and they have roughly 60% of the blood also resulting in less water content in the blood. The water content may increase as a result of the lack of protein albumin which is helpful in keeping the water where it needs to be in the body and not just flowing freely throughout.Lower protein diets also affect the volume of your blood in that your blood will likely be thinner and as it thins out it probably will not take up as much space as it would when it has the regular viscosity of blood filled with protein.
Explanation / Answer
1-The first condition is Inherited Metabolic Disorder in which a single enzyme is absent or doesnot work properly. In this type of disorder lysosomal metabolism is effected due to which removal of waste does not occurs properly .hence the metabolic rate of the patient decreases.
2-Thick blood is caused by heavy protein and vit.k. Lack of intake of protein and serum albumin causes thinning of blood and disturbance in regulating blood volume (by disturbing oncotic pressure). The term used for thinning of blood due to overall above reason is Thrombocytopenia.
