Question

In sheep, expression of the allele for horns (h+) is sex-influenced such that male heterozygotes (h+h) are horned and female heterozygotes are not. All Dorsets, male and female, are hirned because they are all h+h+ types. If Dorset Suffolk F1 crosses are mated to each other, what proportion of the resulting ram lambs would you expect to be horned? What proportion of ewe lambs woulf you expect to be horned?

The first (below( picture is how my teacher went over it in class and she told us to carry it out one more generation.

the second (below) picture is how I worked the punnet square. I am nit sure if it is correct, nor as to how to answer the question. Im not really sure on the male/female part.

please show your work on the punnet square

Explanation / Answer

The genotype of F1 is h+h

When F1 are crossed with each other, the results are shown in the Punnett square below,

Therefore among males all are horned (half are homozygous and the other half are heterozygous). Among females, half are horned and half are not horned.
