I have selected the state Florida. The area which I have chosen to be improved in this area is the immunisation coverage. The state has an immunisation coverage of 92% in children between 12-35 months of age. It is higher when compared to the national average of 90% in the same age group but falls short of the target to achieve 95% immunisation coverage.

The resources available to improve immunisation coverage in this area includes strengthening up of door to door surveys, alleviating the fear of vaccination, breaking the misconceptions and prejudices and to create awareness among the general public. The healthcare policy that can improve the problem is to make vaccination compulsory for all children except in certain medical conditions.
