The international order we currently live in is still relatively new. It reflects lessons learned from WWII and represents our best efforts so far to establish a global order of peace and prosperity. However, human nature hasn't really changed for thousands of years and we are still learning about the best ways to prevent war, increase our security, and combat problems that don't respect nation-state borders. B. When it is all said and done, the realists provide the best set of assumptions for every issue addressed in international relations. The other ideologies offer some good insight and maybe even a plausible solution or two, but ultimately, the takeaway lesson from IR is that only the realists know what they are talking about C. In the long run, we are screwed. The international political order has thus far staved off global economic collapse, environmental catastrophe and nuclear war. But, these maladies cannot be prevented forever. Eventually, humanity will collapse and the age of humans will end soon. D. Over time, more nation-states will inevitably embrace the principles of liberalism. Realists want to hold humanity back with their emphasis on competition. The way of the future is cooperation.
