Giving Comment for following information "If you want to make a combat unit ineffective, add some women to it." This comment was made by the 27th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and I was astonished to learn that it was stated at a congressional hearing in the year of 1991. Colonel Jeannie Flynn Leavitt tested the retired General's theory and has since become an inspiration for many women who want to fly "boy's toys". Colonel Leavitt was the first female fighter pilot for the United States Air Force (USAF) and also the first woman to command a USAF combat fighter wing. Her passion and desire to become a pilot soared past the typical stereotype of only men serving in combat roles and this has been proven by her muclh deserved/distinguished personal awards. Actions displayed by women like Colonel Leavitt has significantly shaped the hearts and minds of those leading the Department of Defense. My personal belief is that if any person can meet a standard set forth by the Armed Forces, than they should be allowed to contribute towards America's combat readiness and support of the front lines

Explanation / Answer

In my opinion , if criterias are met to join the combats forces then there should no reason left behind for not joining those forces by women. Not only in USA, but in other countries also same type of problem prevails that its the monotony of the men to join those forces but the days have changed and thus womens from all over the world are showing their charisma and caliber to join those challanging job profiles and in some cases it is found that they work more seriously than the men with much more efficiencies.
