Explain what the Bioecological Theory is and how it is used in your own words. Next, show your understanding of this theory by writing a complete and thorough example, including appropriate terminology, to show how the bioecological theory is applied.

Explanation / Answer

Social facilitation theory - This theory focusses on improvement on human behaviour by the presence of others, We see this in our day to day life. Our behaviour naturally improves or we show our best in front of our friends in office, we tend to be moer relaxed and natural at home. While giving presentation in front of employees the performance would improve if the boss is there in front of us.

Urie Brofenbrenner has developed this bioecological theory, it comes under educational psychology. It sg=hows the interaction of individiual and environment.

1. Microsystem - It is the first immediate layer of the nest, it encompasses an individual's human relations with surroundings. Let us take example of child, his microsystem would comprise of parents, siblings, acre take etc .. the ones who are just within the surrounding of the child.

2. - Mesosystem - This forms different relationships formed due to inetractions of the people in microsystem, such as relationship between siblings, between parents, teachers etc. There has to be direct interaction which is responsible for the development of the human being.

3. Exosystem - Here the person is not affected directly but is afected indirectly such for the child, pafrents working for financial restarints, increased stress of parents which affects the child.

4. Macrosystem - It encompases of societal beliefs, norms and culture which focuses individual development, such beliefs bsed on religion, culture, gender etc. Suppose if the child is boy then some socities would belive in giving him the best education as he os going to be the bread winner, if the child is girl then teaching her all the household activities. tec
