Question
Critically examine (but constructively):
scene #3
This is an example of organized crime scene. The perpetrator obviously planned this ahead as it is obvious that he tortured the victim before he killed her. He used a duct tape to control the victim and to prevent her from giving resistance. The murderer made 45 non-lethal stabs because he wanted the victim to live long enough in order to withstand the torture. Also, he left the crime scene without a mess, there is no sign of battle. The murder weapon is not found at the crime scene. The pendant of the victim is missing, which might indicate that the killer took it as a trophy. The front door is not damaged, which means that the victim opened the door for the killer. This indicates that she knew the killer. Small traces of blood near the door indicate that he immediately attacked the victim the moment she opened the door for him. The fact that the content of flat was left undisturbed indicate that the motive was not to have material gain. The media strategy would be the insider’s leak that say that the police have a knowledge of the killer being very close to the victim.
scene #2
The profile for the suspect for crime scene 2 is a young (25-30 years old) male, who is a known acquaintance of the victim, possibly a live-in boyfriend. The crime scene seems spontaneous as nothing appears to be stolen and there is food on the table from what appears to be a dinner date. This makes me believe that the victim knew her attacker. Things are scattered around in the apartment as if there was a struggle. The blood being in multiple different places throughout supports this theory. The blood spread out in multiple different places, the half-eaten food, and the disheveled body placement all suggest that this murder was not planned. Lastly, the fact that the window and door were locked possibly means that the person responsible for the murder had a key to get in.
The media strategy for crime scene number 2 should be to get the media to cover the murder but not reveal the murder weapon or cause of death. We are going to want to interview people close to the victim because we believe that the victim knew her assailant. By not disclosing those key details, we may be able to get the killer to offer that information when they are not supposed to be privy to it. The media running pictures of the victim before the murder all over the TV will help to increase guilt in the killer and if it doesn’t, we may be able to pick the killer out by finding the person who has no empathy for the victim.

Scene 3
As per the crime scene, the murder looks like a planned murder, in which the victim was made to suffer before she was killed.
-There are traces of blood in her house, near the door, on the couch, on the bed and in the bathroom.
- nothing is missing from the house except of her pendent
- she was naked on the bed , with her hand and foot tied.
- 45 stabs were made, none of them were lethal enough to kill her.
Now, since only her pendent was missing and rest everything was there in place. There is a huge possibility that the murder was not for a material gain. The women was a 45 year old coccasion lady, possibilities are that it could be an old psychotic lover attacking her for revenge since she was found naked on her bed stabs all over her body, and making sure she suffers before she dies.
A pendent worn on a daily basis must be of some significance, taking that along must mean something. Another possibility could be that while struggling for her life the pendent must have caught the fingerprint so he washed it in bathroom and took it or he simply took it for the sake of taking something to distract the police.
Since the murderer had gone through the drawers , he obviously had an idea of what he wanted could be there, or he might have needed a weapon to kill her.
The chances are high that some one known who knew their way around the house, killed her since there is no trace of struggling or running around the house. It could be that she was put on bed after the murder and made to drain out of blood. The wounds needs to be examined properly and be assessed how old they were before she died.
Crime seen 2
According to the scene, the victim was Afro Caribbean women aged 25.
- There were traces of blood all over the house, indicating struggling and running of the victim to save her life
- She had multiple stabs on her neck, arms and chest.
- There was some blood on the bed, around the bedroom door through the corridor, indicating that the victim might be dragged to her bedroom of could have toppled to her room before she fainted on the bed lying half on the bed.
- there was half eaten food on the table, and the cutleries were found on the floor
- the doors and windows were locked
- there was nothing missing from the house
It is quite possible that it is a case where she invited some one over a meal, or shared the meal with her boyfriend as mentioned and the dinner conversation between them went wrong and the other person killed her .However it can also be a case of a planned murder , where the assassin planned a dinner with her and waited until the right time to make a move. Since nothing was missing from the house, it is not a case of theft, that is for sure.
Broadcasting on TV about the assassin being an insider might make the case weak since it may warn the assassin about the polices' suspect. As for the lack of empathy, empathy can be easily feigned.
