Question
1.Similarities between MIND(mental processes) and natural selection have on survival of an organism interacting with its environment.
2.Differences between MIND(mental processes) and natural selection have on survival of an organism interacting with its environment.
3.The selective advantage the biological processes occurring during natural selection offer the organism when interacting with its environment
4.The selective advantage the psychological(mental) processes occurring during natural selection offer the organism when interacting with its environment
Explanation / Answer
1. When an organism has to interact with it's environment, we can say, the mental processes of the organism leads to natural selection. Let us say, by evolution, an organism is able to react to a stimulus in a particular way. The mind of the organism makes it do this and because of this the organism may get naturally selected. Both mental processes and natural selection lead to a particular kind of response which is better than the others. For example: say an animal is being hunted by another animal. The mind of the animal enables it to escape from the predator using a particular technique. The animal uses the same technique to escape from the predator everytime and it is successful. Hence, it gets naturally selected.
