Jan Van Eyck is regarded as one of the most important representatives of Northern Renaissance art. Tintoretto, who was born Jacopo Comin, was an Italian painter whose work involved bold depiction of perspective, dramatic gestures, and muscular figures in an European art style known as Mannerism or Late Renaissance. Caravaggio was also an Italian painter who adopted Baroque painting that is usually dramatic with the use of deep, intense colors, and strong light and dark shadows. Michelangelo was a painter as well as an architect, poet, and sculptor of the High Renaissance.
