Explanation / Answer

Peter was given formal education along with other normal children. All the training and classes were taken together. No special attention was given. The teachers and other faculty members are tolerant and understanding of Peter's behaviour and there is no punishment for bad behavior or reinforcement for good behaviour.

In my opinion, though the method sounds good, it isn't actually effective. The reasons are as follows-

Children like Peter require special attention and they cannot have the same pace of learning like other normal children. Their understanding, listening, speaking, reading or writing speed can be very slow and they need special aid like prompts, mnemonics to learn things. Treating him like other children is a bad idea. I also see other students getting troubled by him, which tampers their mental health too. The environment and the state of mind we present to children is very important, as it has the potential to impact on their later years. They may also develop a negative attitude towards people with special needs throughout their lives. So, in my opinion the method opted by teachers to educate peter is ineffective.
