Question
1. I've heard far too many stories of people high on drugs breaking into a young girl's homes and them not being able to properly defend themselves for me to put my faith in a handgun. If I am a young mom alone in my house with a baby I am not going to want just a handgun, I'm going to want something much stronger. Of course, an AK47 might be a bit extreme to have as a home defense weapon, but at least some sort of rifle would do. If anything, I think that we could do more to monitor handguns, an easily concealed weapon. Name of logical fallacy ? How do you know?
Explanation / Answer
This statement has logical fallacy of hasty generalization. The speaker has generalized or drawn expansive conclusion for a matter that has not been supported with any evidence. The speaker has drawn conclusion for stories not supported with facts and support the use of weapon.
