Demographic dimensions of population that link to family structure and household are that segment of the population who either lives in a family or has his/her own family. Demographic dimensions help marketers to strategies, plan and market their products to target market. Someone living in a family will show a different behaviour while purchasing as compared to someone living alone. That is why demographic dimensions are critical to consumer behaviour.

Customers are incentivized to purchase or utilize products by offering benefits on buying more products such as "Buy 3 Get One Free", "20% extra", "discount on next purchase" etc. by using these techniques customer are promoted to buy more and utilize more products.

The leaders who are knowledgeable about a product or the views of opinion leaders tend to affect others own choices because these people are regarded as experts about some product or as opinion leaders. These people can be early adopters of any product and they can provide useful insight about the products even before the followers purchase it, it saves the time and money of people.

For example: You can find many videos on YouTube which review mobile phones and tablets etc. These people have millions of followers and whatever they save in their video affect the choice of people who are following them as the people who are reviewing these videos are experts and they as an early adopters have purchased the gadget and used it, in the review we may see some problem which would not have been visible without purchasing the device now since we know it from the review video we will not consider that particular model while purchasing.

Marketers consider other influencers like surrogate consumers because they tend to look more familiar and trustworthy to consumers, consumers are sometimes confused and sometimes they lack knowledge about the product they are purchasing here surrogate consumers play an important role of advising and promoting the consumer to purchase the product.

For Example: An individual who is going to invest in securities market may have less knowledge and here the surrogate consumer i.e. stock broker will play an important role to promote the product of the marketer how is compensating the stock broker in exchange to the sale of his products.
