Traditional annual evaluation method refers to the evalautes the performance of the employees at the annual appraisal meetings based on the past performance and set standards. Real time feedback refers to the evaluation of performance from time to time to achieve the desired outputs and reach the goals set.

Annual evaluation is a limited approach which gives a formal review at periodical intervals, usually annaully. It is a reactive process which evaluates the past performance based on the standards. It works on top to down assesments to measure the accomplishment of the employee for his position in the company in future.

Real time feedback is a flexible approach which is comprehensive with a continous procedure to manage the employees or teams to work efficiently to achive the targets or desired objectives. It is a dynamic and continous process that works on increasing organizational effectiveness. It focuses on the achievment of set target by the employees on real time basis. It is a casual and flexible method.

I would certainly go with the real time feedback method because of the merits it possess. It is flexible and can be moulded according to the organizational structure. It is a continous process and management would not have to wait for the annual appraisal to evaluate an employee's performance. Unlike annual evaluation which is done after the tasks are completed, it is a process of evaluation made during the task is performed to achive the target hence improvements can be made in the performance based on the feedback and this will increase the efficiency in the performance and result in higher productivity.
