Inauguration event for Mayo Clinic Health Center
Baltimore, March 6th 2018 - The inauguration gala for Mayo Clinic Health Center, Baltimore will be conducted on 10th March 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health Center, 12 Hospital Drive, Baltimore, MD. The event will begin at 7:30 PM and will include tours of the new health center.
Speaker will include Congressman John Newman, Mayo Clinic Regional Director Dr. Amit Patel and Health center CEO Dr. Angeline Gonzalez.
The new facility will be one of the largest healthcare center in the city special wings for Integrated Medicine and Complementary Alternative Medicine wings. In addition, it will bear the traditional departments for regular medicine and surgery procedure. The new health center will also provide specialized care and a preventive care unit for local initiative to promote healthy lifestyle.
“I am very excited and positive about our new health care center facility. We believe in moving forward together with the society around us and we plan to not only cure the sick but to promote health awareness in the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland.” Dr. Patel said.
This will be Mayo Clinic’s biggest step in Maryland towards integration social services and healthcare. This new initiative will focus 30% of their effort in preventive healthcare initiatives in the city. The new center will begin seeing patients from March 15th 2018 onwards.
“This is a great news for the people of Baltimore. I have always been a strong supporter of healthcare and have always focused on the welfare of the people of this city. This new health care center by Mayo and their preventive health care initiatives will definitely help the people and the health of the overall community.” said Congressman Newman.
In addition to the regular health care system, Mayo will also provide online booking of appointments, special consulting sessions and glossary of preventive measure. The new health care center is also likely to be the second largest in the city with in-patient capacity of over 1500 seats.
St. James University wins the South African National inter-university football championship
Johannesburg, March 6th 2018 – St. James University has won the South African National inter-university football championship 2018. St. James University beat McGregor’s Institute in the final by 3-1 score line to claim the championship.
Speaking to the press, John Wycombe, the captain of St. James University team said “We are extremely delighted to have won the trophy. McGregor’s Institute is the champions from last year and are always a tough opponent. However, our hard work, determination and team spirit helped us in beating them and claim the trophy. “
This is the second time that St. James University has won the coveted tournament since the competition began in 2005. St. James had previously won the championship in 2012. They have also been runner up in 2006, 2008 and 2014.
Two goals in the first half from striker N’golo Batshuayi and midfielder James Wood gave them the lead. However, McGregor’s team countered with a goal in the 43rd minute of the first half through their winger Paul Iwobi. With the score at 2-1 the second half began and at 83rd minute the second goal from James Wood sealed the score to 3-1.
“We are very happy to win this trophy. The boys have worked hard all season and put in their 110% throughout the practice. We always participate in this tournament and with all the top university players across the country every team is a tough test for each other. Nonetheless, we are going to enjoying this moment and hope we can retain this trophy next year as well” said the St. James University coach Dean Redden.
The team will be heading back to Johannesburg on March 8th 2018 and will be sharing their joy with the rest of the University at the campus.
