Job Description for New Accounts Clerk

New Accounts clerk is a part of accounting team in the organization. The Accounting clerk would be responsible for performing all the accounting task on a day to day basis and report them to the Manager of the Accounting department. The clerk will be coordinating with different teams in the organization to operate on a daily basis.

Other skill Required

Candidate must be able to work in any type of working environment. Since this is the Accounts team, most of the time it is going to be busy for the Accounting clerk. It can be a month end, mid-year end, full yearend which are considered to be a busy season. In busy season candidates are expected to work in shifts, work on weekends.

Should be able to work under pressure without any issues

Good Analytical skill, Account management skills, problem solving skills are must

Good communication skill is a must since there is going to be a lot of coordination between different teams.

Qualification

Candidate with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is a must and should have one degree at least in Accounts

Work Experience

Candidate must have worked in the Accounting field at least for 2years and should possess good knowledge on how the Accounting system works.

Should have knowledge in Month end closures and should have done it at least for 2 years.

Candidate should know GAAP Model

Duties & Responsibilities

Reconcile the Accounting entries of each transaction.

Coordinate between each teams to ensure that month end closure is done

Act as a one point of contact for all Accounting entries in the organization

Send weekly, monthly report to the Leadership

Should do month end closure activities

Attend the weekly meeting with clients and prepare the meeting MOM

Monthly reports to be sent to the client and Top Leadership

Financial statements to be verified on a weekly basis and confirm the Leadership

Compile information about new accounts, enter account information into computers, and file related forms or other document.

This job is not limited to one Industry. Since this is accounting job no company can skip from this and has to maintain it everywhere. This job is applicable in all places but with different names. Even though this job is available in all the industries the nature of the job does not change. It remains as it is. Accounting standards does not change for each industry and it remains constant for the entire country. If the government does any change to the policy only then the Accounting policy will change else it remains same across all the industries. Since government gets funded mainly through the tax which are being paid by the citizens of the country and to do that the Accounts of each person or an organization needs to be up to date, demand for this job is always high. The demand can never go down or it can go too high as well. There is always a good demand for people who are Accounting specialist. There is a chance that accounting jobs may take boom if the government makes the Accounting policy stricter and it attracts more work and leads to more jobs. It is always good for students to start their career in accounting field and do some kind of higher education in Accounts and their life is going to be settled. Students can gain some years’ experience and start doing the Audit on their own and be an entrepreneur as well.
