Change is part of life. Change is important to any business due to change in customer preferences, change in technology, changes in socio economic factors etc. Change management is a process of transition of organisational goal, process and technology. It helps in develop strategies to accept change, incorporate change and help people to adapt to the changing environment. Companies are adopting to change according to the peoples preference and lifestyle. For eq, Multinational Company Pepsi got an insight on how people are moving towards health conscious living. That made Pepsi to rebuild their portfolio of products that can be offered. They acquired Quaker oats, Tropicana juice, Frito lay etc. . Rather than having only fun based products like soft drink, they rebuild their portfolio. Now their large share of revenue comes from other products than Pepsi. So it is important to understand the change of preference of clients. Large organisation which I had last encounted was Air india. it was run by Government. Air India had serious problem with process such as never on time. On the other hand , private aircraft carrier was low cost, great service, maintains time, comfortable seat and operational. Air india had least efficient system, they tried to operate on least demanded routes, recruited too many staffs and was running majorly for govt official with nominal charges or nil charges, accidents and techical etc made aircraft in big debt .Whearas other aircraft follwed time, process , gave offers and efficient customer service to make profit. Feel of an university is big, it gives an instant recognition , brand value . So it matters in long run. Core capability or core competency referes to the attributes the firm have over its competitors in market place . Apple, company has innovative products, quality product, great service and brand name.Great service especially great after sale service and innovate products with quality is what is missing in most of the other competitive brands. competences if i forray into for eg ,investment consulting businesswould be ,higly knowledge about financial products, good communication skills , excellent client service.Competencies that we develop will be quality service , reliability , good practices and ethics . Competencies of other firm would be reliability, profit making , great valued firm.Partners will be the role of other firm . Microsoft and nokia , merger combined microsofts strength and nokia hardware expertise.With this strtegic alliance they are geared to face competition from ios and android .yes , strategic allliance can bring more value to the firms. A learning organisation helps in a long run due to the fact that knowledge updation empowers people and they develop loyality towards the company .They in turn works effectively with best practices.High involment oragnisation may or may not give autonomy to its workers .Decision making powers are often left to top managements .Network organisation , people gets autonomy but sometimes increased dependence can create more issues like lossing jobs due to strategic alliances etc.Learning is a continious process that can motivate people .
