In the era of Globalization, the lack of adaptability to the ever-changing system, may only pull down an Organization to grow further. In this regard, if an Organization lacks the speed of adapting to such a change, then there are high possibilities of the Competitors availing a competitive edge over such a Organization. For example, an Organization is all set to introduce a new technology in the market that had never been commercially utilized before. However, even after making the technology suitable for commercial use, the process of making it available to the consumers is relatively slow. In the meantime, if the competitor learns about the same and comes up with a substitute technology in the market and seeks the ‘First mover’s advantage’, then in such a case, the lack of speed for an Organization could turn fatal to the development and marketing of their original technology and thereby killing the Organization. Hence, the speed in today’s era is rather one of the decisive criteria of withstanding the competition. Consumers are impatient. The market would not await for the Organization to reach to them in its own pace. Lack of speed may hence result into the consumer’s shifting of preferences from one Organization to the other as too much of a waiting is certainly undesirable in the market. Therefore an Organization needs to buck up their speed to stay put in the competition.
