The decision to terminate an individuals’ employment involves the risk of a possible legal challenge. The employer may face possible discrimination case. Terminated employee could claim that their former employer defamed them by making false, disparaging comments about them to coworkers or other parties. The human rights code provides protection for all employees against discrimination during employment as well as upon termination. In this case it was discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and that was false. Federal laws protect employees from being fired or otherwise discriminated against.Greyson would have a valid claim for wrongful termination on the basis of discrimination.
