Our society receives untrue or biased information without realizing it. Because people do not realize they are receiving false information, they are negligent in receiving the “real news” when there is a correction. This creates false rumors to be spread amongst teenagers and adults. Our target customers are adults aged 30 or older, who are on the go most of the time. In general, our customers want unbiased news stories; or, at least the benefit of knowing whether or not what they are reading is opinionated or factual. We are choosing to target our customer to those who are on the go because they are more likely to purchase/download our APP to obtain accurate news stories, compared to taking the time to buy a newspaper or watch a segment on the television. Additionally, it is time-consuming to flip through the newspaper searching for a story that seems factual or waiting for the news reporter to cover what the customer is interested in. Instead, the customer has the ability to search top news stories and learn what is going on in the world within minutes. What pains will your target customer(s) experience in adopting your product or service? Please respond in approximately 200 words.
Explanation / Answer
The pain the target customers may experience in adopting our product includes uncertainty caused by the false information they may receive through social media as well as other websites regarding the product quality as well as performance. Some of the customers put wrong reviews and comments only to reduce the sale and insult the company in front of the public only to take revenge on some bad customer experience. Most of the customers buy products only after reading the online reviews and even one wrong review or rating can affect the product sale very badly. The reviews would be sometimes given as their personal experience with the products even though they might not have purchased. The target customers become upset to see these reviews and false news and decide not to adopt the product. Another pain is regarding the higher product price that affect customer’s ego. Sometimes the false news spread regarding the cost of the product and highlight the product price to be higher than the product actually deserves. This kind of news also upset the customers and they will not be ready to pay higher and adopt the product as they do not want to be deceived by someone. One more pain can be the anxiety over the service post sales because of the reviews related to bad customer service and one or two reviews are enough to make the customer worried about the same. The return policies of the company also are a matter of pain for the customer as they expect a return or refund from our company if they are not satisfied by the performance.
