Explanation / Answer

A) if a student is chosen at random , the probability that the student recieced grade-D = Number of students with 'D' grade/Total number of students

Number of students with 'D' grade = 0

Total number of students = 11

if a student is chosen at random , the probability that the student recieced grade-D = 0/11 = 0

B)if C or above is considered as a pass grade , and if a student was chosen at random,

probability that the student received a pass grade = Number of Students received a pass grade / Total number of students

Number of Students received a pass grade = Number of students C or above C grade = Number of Students with C grade + Number of students with B Grade + Number of students with A Grade = 1+1+7 = 9

probability that the student received a pass grade = Number of Students received a pass grade / Total number of students = 9/11

probability that the student received a pass grade = 9/11

C)

Student either receive a pass grade or a fail grade

probability that the student selected at random for a fail grade = 1 -  probability that the student selected at random received a pass grade = 1- 9/11 = 2/11
