The term SSE tells us about the variation casued by error or within a particular group.
For exampl when we compare your scores with other students scores. We try to predict the variation in score caused by the other students scores. This is the main of regression analysis. But since you have given the same test multiple times , it is expected that your own scores would improve with more the number of tests you give , hence there is variation in score due to your own practice as well.
